Sea Worthy Inspections to Issue Certificate of Fitness on Small Sport and Recreational Vessels, and Local General Safety Certificates on Commercial Vessels
We are appointed as a SAMSA external Surveyor to conduct Boat Surveys (Sea Worthy Inspections).
We are also approved to calculate the buoyancy ratios of Small Vessels, and approved to issue Buoyancy Certificates for vessels.
We can survey the following vessels less than 9 meters in length, less than 25 tons:
Category R vessels (Inland Waters) - Day, or Day and Night operations
Category E vessels (1 N.Mile) - Day, or Day and Night operations
Category D vessels (5 N.Mile) - Day, or Day and Night operations
Category C vessels (15 N.Mile) - Day, or Day and Night operations
Category B vessels (40 N.Mile) - Day, or Day and Night operations
The cost of the Boat Survey (Sea Worthy Inspection) for vessels less than 6 meters in length = R410-00.
The cost of the Boat Survey (Sea Worthy Inspection) for vessels over 6 meters but less than 9 meters in length = R645-00.
Cost for the calculation and issuing of a Buoyancy Certificate = R550-00.
Boat Surveys and Buoyancy Calculations can also be done at your place of residence, at an additional Call out Fee rate.
